Gregorio Gutiérrez

Orchestra Conductor

 

Born in 1962 and after finishing his studies in Tenerife and Madrid, he continued his studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, graduating in symphonic and opera conducting with Prof. Yuri Simonov.

He has been Principal Conductor of the “Orquesta Clásica de La Laguna” (Canary Islands), the Mendoza Philharmonic Orchestra (Argentina) and of the “Ciudad de Oviedo” Symphony, Associate Conductor of the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble and Principle Guest Conductor of the Ufa Opera (Russia) and associate Conductor of the "Orquesta Sinfónica de las Palmas".

As Guest Conductor he has performed many concerts and tours throughout Europe and America with several orchestras, like the Orquesta Nacional de España, Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Orquesta de Córdoba, Sinfónica de Las Palmas, Orquesta de Extremadura, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Filarmónica de Málaga, Orquesta de Granada, Orquesta de Cámara de Gran Canaria, Argentine National Symphony, Santa Fe Symphony (Argentina), Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, San Juan National University Orchestra, Minería Symphony (Mexico), National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic, National Symphony Orchestra of the Cuba, Moscow Orchestra, Russian State Cinematographic Symphony, Saint Petersburg Chamber Orchestra, State Hermitage Orchestra, Tomsk Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestras of Ulianovsk, Lipisk, Yaroslavs, Irkuskt and Donetsk, the Katowice Academy Symphony, North Hungary Symphony, Aspen Festival Orchestra and a long etcetera.

Mto. Gutiérrez has premiered many pieces by contemporary composers, like E. Denisov, T. Marco, J. Villa Rojo, Yuri Kasparov, V. Rasgado, R. Barce and R. Mederos, L. Vega, Vázquez del Fresno, J.M. Marrero among others.

He has recorded works of A. Piazzolla, R. Mederos, J. Villa Rojo and T. Marco, for labels like Marco Polo (Naxos), Autor, Karonte and Discobi with the Orchestras of Cordoba, Oviedo and the Chamber XXI Orchestra.
 
Now is the Associate Conductor of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Las Palmas and musical director of the "Encuentros de Musica Religiosa de Caja Canarias" since 2006.

- Principal Conductor of the Camerata Académica Española. 1.993-1.994 1993 till 1996

- Principle Guest Conductor of the Theatre of Ufa Opera (Rusia) and Guest. 1995-1996

- He was Associate Conductor of the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble. 1996

- Principal Conductor of the Mendoza Philharmonic Orchestra (Argentina). 1997-1999

- Principal Conductor of the “Ciudad de Oviedo”  Symphony (OSCO). 2001-2003

- Associate Conductor of the "Orquesta Sinfónica de Las Palmas. 2009-2010"
